Web Development

Websites, web applications and backend integrations built around your users and business goals.

Websites and web applications

A business website helps people understand your offer and get in touch. A web application goes further: accounts, forms, dashboards and workflows that let customers or staff complete tasks online. I build around the users and requirements of each product rather than treating every website as the same package.

Business websites

Responsive pages with clear service information, navigation and enquiry paths. Content structure and mobile usability are part of planning the site.

Interactive web apps

React and Next.js interfaces for account-based experiences, forms, data views and product workflows, using JavaScript or TypeScript where appropriate.

Admin panels

Interfaces for staff to manage records, orders and content, with access requirements agreed for the people using the system.

Backend and API integrations

A useful interface needs dependable data. My stack includes Node.js, Express, MongoDB and Firebase. Scope can include REST API integration, authentication and the backend endpoints needed by your website or connected mobile app. Database and hosting choices depend on the product and existing infrastructure.

From requirements to handover

  1. Define the purpose. Share the audience, pages or workflows, existing systems and design assets.
  2. Agree the scope. Confirm features, integrations, responsibilities and milestones before development.
  3. Build and review. Review the interface and core journeys against the agreed requirements.
  4. Plan handover. Agree deployment access, documentation and any ongoing support as part of the project scope.

What to include in your enquiry

Tell me whether you need an informational website or a web application, who will use it, and what it should connect to. Include any existing URL, designs, content, preferred stack and target timeline. This helps define a realistic scope; cost and delivery depend on the requirements.

Real estate website (React/Next.js), Helpnaw website, or browse all website projects. Discuss your web project.

Website vs web application scope

A business website focuses on clear pages, service information, contact paths and content that builds trust—usually fewer interactive workflows and lighter backend needs.

A web application adds signed-in experiences, dashboards, forms that change data, role-based views and integrations with APIs or databases. Scope, timeline and hosting needs are typically larger than a marketing site alone.

Tell me which you need (or both over phases) so quoting covers the right features, environments and handover steps.

Common questions

Who handles hosting and deployment?

Hosting provider, domain, SSL and production deployment are agreed per project. I can deploy to your chosen platform when that is in scope, or hand over build artifacts and documentation for your team. Hosting fees and long-term server management are not automatic add-ons unless explicitly included in the agreement.

How does source-code handover work?

Repository access, branches and deliverables follow the agreed scope and contract. Work paid for under that scope is typically delivered in a repository and environment you control, with README or handover notes for the features built. Pre-existing themes, plugins and SaaS accounts remain governed by their providers.

What about APIs and third-party services?

Integrations (payments, auth, maps, CRM, webhooks, AI APIs, etc.) are scoped individually. You may need your own vendor accounts, API keys and compliance review. Sandbox vs production credentials, rate limits and error handling are planned before build. Ongoing vendor costs and SLA monitoring are your responsibility unless maintenance is separately agreed.

Is maintenance included after launch?

Post-launch updates and support are optional and defined in writing if you want them. Initial delivery can include a handover period for agreed fixes; there is no unlimited lifetime support.
